What's the difference between
'Vector' & 'Digitally Painted' Images?
All designs must be one or the other!
Here are the differences:
-Contain areas of bold/solid color (but also may contain gradients)
-Are the preferred format for logos
-Are the most versatile file types
-Can easily be scaled to ANY size with no loss of image quality
-Are VERY well-suited for logos
-Have small/compact file sizes
-May contain many colors, or a set number of colors (if requested)
-Generally preferred by embroiderers, digitizers, and screen printers*
Digitally Painted Images:
-Have more of a 'hand painted' or 'airbrushed' look
-Look more like traditional art than a logo design
-Are best for display artwork, or artwork being digitally printed
-Must be created at the largest size needed, increasing file size
-Will become blurry if enlarged too much past the original size
-Are not as common for logo design
-Are not recommended if screen printing or embroidery is desired*
*If image/s will be embroidered, digitized, and/or screen printed:
Be sure to consult with your embroiderer, digitizer, and/or screen printer to confirm what file type/s they prefer and how many colors they they can work with before we start the project - as their requirements and capabilities may differ from vendor to vendor
NOTE: Dogworks by Molly Yang does not offer digitizing, screen printing, or embroidery services - but will be happy to work with you and your selected vendor/s to meet their required specifications during the artwork creation process.
Can I order Additional prints?
Yes! Additional prints can be purchased for $15 per print. All prints come in a protective sleeve and rigid packaging. FREE shipping within the United States (add for $7.00 international shipping).
Completion time may vary due to complexity of the project and how many edits are needed. For example, the usual turnaround time for a 1-2 subject design is about 2-3 weeks after the start of the project . *Note that start date is different than the quote request submission date.* You will be provided with a start date estimate when your quote request is received. Delays in feedback, delays in returning of the design contract, and delays in deposit & balance payments will extend the turnaround time.
Can I place my design on products for personal use?
YES! You may use the supplier of your choice to create your own items for PERSONAL use (for yourself, friends, and family). Offering these items for public sale is not permitted. If image copyright is desired, this can be purchased for an additional fee - please contact me for details.
